This summer’s Download Festival just got a whole lot better in the eyes of the rushonrock staff with news that Slash, Steel Panther and Reckless Love will add some rock n roll glamour to proceedings.
Just as we were starting the worried that The Prodigy and their ilk were going to overshadow our favourite summer shindig the big hats, big choruses and big hair came riding to the rescue.
After missing last year’s Download, the Panther were a shoe-in to return to the scene of their finest crimes against 80s hair metal. And Slash, touting a brand new solo album, will hope to reprise 2010’s main stage slot when he returns to Donington with old mucker Myles Kennedy.
rushonrock faves Reckless Love go head-to-head with the Panther in the race for spandex-fuelled glory but there are plenty more highlights added to a bill already boasting Metallica, Sabbath and Soundgarden.
The brilliant Black Label Society are back with Dave Mustaine’s Megadeth in tow – meaning at least three of the Big Four will be reunited at Download a year after 2011’s Sonisphere sell-out. What price Slayer coming along for the ride?
Terrorvision‘s infectious brand of pop rock will complement comeback kings Little Angels while Ginger Wildheart keeps the Brit rock flag flying with pride. Expect the Quireboys to join the party very soon…
