rushonrock‘s favourite sleaze party punk tips for 2009 have announced a UK headline tour for the spring after selling more than 10,000 copies of the fantastic Heartless.
But in a hammer blow to North East fans there’s no sign of Dear Superstar playing at a venue in our region anytime soon – or so it seems. Micky and the boys thrilled the Newcastle Academy crowd with a blinding set in support of Hanoi Rocks last time out and the mental-as-anything Mancs promised a swift return to one of their favourite stamping grounds.
But as things stand April’s Brothers In Blood tour has snared seven venues – the nearest of which is Bradford. This week’s promo poster does, however, promise more dates to be announced soon and rushonrock‘s spies tell us they’ll be amazed if one of the biggest emerging Brit rock acts in years doesn’t do the decent thing and stop off in our neck of the woods.
In the meantime Global Music – the Jarrow-based home of Dear Superstar – has decided to celebrate the band’s commercial success with the offer of a free download single on April 13. Brothers In Blood will be available on iTunes to coincide with the band’s headline jaunt and Micky said: “It’s a way of saying thanks for last year.”
The full list of confirmed dates is as follows: April 22 Barfly Cardiff (ages 14+); 23 Gasworks Bradford (18+): 24 The Mayfair Louth (all ages); 25 Soundhouse Bolton (18+); 29 Barfly London (14+); 30 Eddies Rock Bar Birmingham (16+) May 1The Parish Huddersfield (16+); 2 Mad Ferret Preston (18+).
