Glitterati1resizeGlobal Music continue to strengthen their DR2 roster of emerging rock Gods following the news that Leeds mob The Glitterati have inked a deal with the Tyneside-based label.

Joining the likes of The Sound Ex, Dear Superstar and Killing For Company, the band joins a stable brimming with ambitious British talent.

And as Global Music preapares to release new records by W.A.S.P. and Wednesday 13 next month these are heady times for the Cook brothers and theur Jarrow-based operation.

The Glitterati first burst onto the scene back in 2003 when they released their debut single Do You Love Yourself?, which roused a huge amount of interest from the British music press, including a nomination for Best British Newcomer at the Kerrang! Awards.

Their 2005 self-titled debut, produced by Mike Clink (Guns’N’Roses, Metallica), received rave reviews and secured the band a loyal fan-base with energetic live performances supporting acts such as Kings Of Leon, The Killers, Jet, Evanescence, David Lee Roth, The Wildhearts, The Datsuns and Simple Plan.

On their move to DR2 the band said: “After meeting the team at Global Music, we knew it was the right label for us. Their work ethic, passion and commitment to their artist roster is second to none and we are very excited to be working with them.”
