They’re relative newbies on the European scene but after inking a deal with the North East’s very own DR2 label it could well be time to take I Hate Kate to your hearts.
Lite rock single It’s Always Better hit stores today with album Embrace The Curse out next month. And if there’s a certain sense of jumping on the Plain White Ts bandwagon then don’t let that put you off – the guys sound like Green Day, REM and a whole load of other punk/alt rock faves while still carving out their own sound. Hell, at one point they even do a passable impression of the B52s!
But rushonrock knows the guys at Global Music (DR2’s Jarrow home) were delighted to snap up one of the USA’s fastest growing underground acts in the face of fierce competition. And they don’t just sign anyone these days.
Check out the single but be warned – there’s much more to IHK than their firts commercial-friendly stab at the UK market. And that’s a good thing.
