After Tuesday’s face-off between stadium superstars Queen and cocky kids Dirty Rock And Roll there’s another truly titanic rock battle on Tyneside tonight.
In the glam corner are Hanoi Rocks as they prepare to deliver their last ever live set to a Newcastle audience. And fighting for funk is the legendary Dan Reed – of the sorely missed Dan Reed Network – on the comeback tour which promises to usher in a new era of what we like to call mellow metal.
But what makes this particular clash of the rock titans so fascinating is the fact that it all takes place under one roof! Yes, as the Rocks kick off on Newcastle’s Carling Academy main stage that consummate crooner Reed will be strutting his stuff upstairs at Academy 2! Can you believe it?
