Award winning drummer David ‘Greenie’ Green is reaching out to the rock community by offering a free online lesson every Monday for the next month.

The Geordie star has worked alongside Black Star Riders’ Ricky Warwick and former Duran Duran guitarist Andy Taylor.

And the former Vant, Little Comets and Detroit Social Club drummer has established himself as one of London’s go-to session musicians.

But as coronavirus cripples the entertainment industry, Greenie is keen to find alternative avenues to keep himself busy and stay creative.

“To offer some help and escapism in these crazy times, I have decided to give a free online drum lesson every Monday afternoon for the next month to a randomly selected individual,” he said.

“This would be perfect for a child who’s not attending school but it’s open to absolutely anyone, absolutely anywhere.

“Each week I will give the free lesson to a new person.

“If the selected individual does not have a drum kit at home I can offer a free music theory lesson.”

Greenie won Best New Drummer in the 2016 Rhythm Magazine/Music Radar awards and holds a clean and updated DBS certificate and ‘Child Protection in Education (Music) Level 2 Qualification’.
