UK extreme music shindig Incineration Fest has announced that Greek symphonic death metallers Septicflesh will be replacing Poland’s Batushka on this year’s bill.
In a statement on the festival’s Facebook page, organisers said: “Despite having a UK Exclusive deal agreed with Incineration Festival, Batushka announced another UK show to happen just one month after our event. For this reason, the band have been dropped from the festival and replaced by Greek extreme metal masters Septicflesh.”
Last month, it was revealed that black metallers Batushka were joining the Download Festival 2019 line-up.
A clutch of bands have joined Septic Flesh (pictured) on the Incineration Fest bill, including infamous Swedish black metal act Shining and Arizona’s Incite – who feature Richie Cavalera (stepson of Soulfly’s Max) amongst their ranks.
New additions also include based London-based grinders The Brood, Welsh deathsters Sodomized Cadaver, UK black metallers Necronautical, London one man death metal act Atonement and Red Method – a new outfit containing members of Meta-Stasis and The Defiled.
Incineration Fest, which takes place across venues in Camden on May 11, has grown to be one of the UK’s most high profile extreme metal events since its inception in 2014.
Its 2019 edition will be headlined by Norwegian black metal legends Mayhem and also features Asphyx, Winterfylleth, Carpathian Forest, Voices, Abysmal Torment and Unholy Lust.
