Still riding high on the success of the brilliant Last Look At Eden album, Europe guitarist John Norum has still found time to cut his latest solo record and we can’t wait for the July release of Play Yard Blues.
Look out for a full interview with the guitar hero here very soon but for now settle down and take a look at what makes one of Scandinavia’s finest musicians tick.
The rushonrock Rider appears right here every Friday – lifting the lid on the lives behind the stars.
On your iPod: At the moment I’m listening to a lot of Govt Mule. The last album they did was great and I’m a huge Warren Haynes fan. And I’m always listening to Black Rock by my label mate Joe Bonamassa.
Small Screen Pleasure: I watch Crime Night on a Tuesday back home in Sweden. I like the real-life aspect of the programmes they show and they go behind the scenes of the crimes and the lives of the criminals. There’s some really tragic stuff but it’s addictive.
Making A Meal Of It: Chicken Tikka. Sometimes I chance a Vindaloo as we have a competition on the road to see who can survive the hottest curries. We all love Indian food and that’s one of the reasons we love playing the UK.
Drivetime: It’s a Dodge Charger.
Ace Place: I’m not just saying this because I’m talking to rushonrock but England is my favourite place. On the last UK tour me and Joey (Tempest) travelled everywhere by train so that we could really appreciate your beautiful country. Even the weather was nice.
Dream Destination: I’d love to go to Australia. We’re getting some offers to do some shows over there so we’ll just have to wait and see.
Nickname Shame: Jonta. I suppose it’s a Swedish nickname for John.
