Orden Ogan backstory

Bursting onto the scene with 2008’s visceral Vale, Orden Ogan have built a back catalogue and a fan base the envy of their power metal peers.

In 2010 we described 8/10 Rushonrock-rated sophomore drop Easton Hope as ‘pitched somewhere between the bombast of Dragonforce and the battle metal of Turisas’.

And if Sebastian ‘Seeb’ Levermann and co. have continued to evolve during the last decade or more then the latent fury of their formative years still looms large.

When 2021’s Final Days â€” the band’s seventh studio offering — landed at number three on the official German album chart it seemed cult status had been assured.

But it’s worth going back to 2016’s brilliant The Book Of Ogan to experience the Teutonic powerhouse at their brutal best.

Peaking with more than half a million monthly listeners on Spotify, Seeb and the boys boast a digital imprint that underlines the band’s relentless progression.

With the promise that new long player The Order Of Fear â€” due for release this summer — will usher in a new era of dark power metal it looks like long-time Orden Ogan fans are in for a treat in 2024.

The epic saga of Alister Vale continues…

In frontman Seeb’s own words

“We show our vulnerable side and get personal like never before on new single My Worst Enemy.

“It’s a power ballad, reaching out to those who suffer from anxiety, depression and self-doubt.

“We want them to know that they’re not alone.”

The verdict on My Worst Enemy

In true Orden Ogan fashion this brooding single’s darkly appealing and deeply affecting.

Putting the power metal into the power ballad, it’s a thrillingly atmospheric piece of work from the mysterious Seeb and his loyal cohorts.

My Worst Enemy affords Orden Ogan’s frontman the opportunity to sing from the heart and sing with feeling.

And as a soaring tune reaches its critical climax, it’s clear that Seeb has never been so committed to his metal vision and Alister Vale’s compelling story.

Check out the thrilling denouement to a sinister video clip as the final notes of My Worst Enemy cede to an eery spoken word segment trailing new album The Order Of Fear.

Orden Ogan are back.

And this time they mean business.
