Simon RushworthNew Yorker Jesse Malin has dropped the first single from brand new album Lust For Love – due early 2021.
The singer songwriter released Backstabbers in the US last week and the video for the new tune is out now.
Paired with a typically moving cover of Tom Petty’s Crawling Back To You, the single is available digitally and as a limited edition seven-inch single via Little Steven’s Wicked Cool Records.
Backstabbers was recorded during the Sunset Kids sessions and was produced by Lucinda Williams and Tom Overby.
“The story is pretty much about coming of age, getting out of your small town and coming into the city searching for something new,” said Malin.
Named ‘One of the best streamed performances for the stay-at-home-era’ by Rolling Stone, Malin’s Saturday livestream series, The Fine Art of Self Distancing, continues this month.
His European spring tour with Brian Fallon has been rescheduled for February 2021 and a Glastonbury appearance is set for 2021.
