Death Angel have announced that their ninth full-length album, Humanicide, will be released on May 31 via Nuclear Blast Records.

The veteran Bay Area thrashers once again drafted in producer Jason Suecof of Audiohammer Studios for the recording and mixing, while mastering was handled by Ted Jensen – known for his work with Pantera and Slipknot.

Commenting on the upcoming release, guitarist Rob Cavestany said: “This collection of songs represents the band in its current state – united, vital, intense and (still) hungry like the wolf! I wanted this record to be quite diverse stylistically while obviously keeping with the parameters of metal.

“DA has been known to push the envelope and we absolutely did this time. So many emotions are expressed through our music, I’m very much looking forward to adding these songs into our live set list.”

Death Angel will also setting off on a mammoth European tour in the summer, beginning on June 2 in Plzen, Czech Republic and taking in an appearance at the UK’s Bloodstock Open Air Festival on August 9.
