Potteries riff lords Psyence will release their long-awaited self-titled debut this summer after dropping lead single Cold Blooded Killer to critical acclaim.
The alt rock heroes – who hail from Stoke – mould psych rock, classic rock and electronica.
And Psyence’s 10-track long player soundtracks years spent honing their craft across the UK and beyond.
“Our debut album is an intense chemical reaction of face-melting riffs and groove-laden tunes,” revealed the band.
“It’s a product of many years toiling away in backroom venues and countless van hours. It’s a working man’s release. Tune in. Drop out!”
Psyence are Steve “Wedge” Pye (lead vocals and guitar), Jay “Colonel” Bellingham (bass), Joe “Gonzo” Walsh (drums), Ben “Pig” Nixon (keys and synthesizer) and Jamie “Carty” Cartlidge (rhythm guitar and vocals).
The band re-worked many of their original recordings and live favourites, co-producing the album with local music producer Sam Bloor.
London-based Santi Arribas (Gang of Four, Hotei) mixed the record – readied for an August 16 release.
Psyence were voted ‘Best Act’ at the prestigious Music Awards of Staffordshire and Cheshire 2017.
Developing a fearsome reputation for their incendiary live shows, the band has become firm favourites at the Shiiine On Festivals (and Cruise) and have performed at Kendall Calling and Festival No 6.
Cold Blooded Killer is available now via the usual digital providers.
