Elasea – Where I Belong (Self Released)
Genre: Alt Rock
Starting life as a covers band might earn you some jip from your mates but when that morphs into Elasea the joke’s on them.
Where I Belong, the Berkshire based quintet’s debut EP, is their logical next step after shedding the cover band vibe, having a sequence of YouTube hits and featuring on BBC Introducing.
The five-track record is a strong example of the attitude and skill the band have shown to get this far. Time Is Against Us is a proper headbanging anthem with a Lower Than Atlantis sound but Elasea show the variety in their repertoire through ultra-catchy Where I Belong and On The Line brings out the varied best in the band.
Where I Belong is a long way from cover songs. The foursome have put in the hard yards so far and this EP is a very welcome start to their career. Russell Hughes
