As Leeds and Reading beckon, the next band we take a look is Muse.  The studio three-piece made waves with fifth full-length record The Resistance in 2009 and have been solid regulars at UK festivals for some years.  This year they remain one of the most talked about live acts of the lot.

Band Name: Muse

Date: Friday 26th August

Stage: Main Stage

Hit or miss: HIT – Aside from being called the ‘greatest live act in the world’ on  a number of occasions, Muse have the impressive discography to boost too.

Craziest song title: Apocalypse Please – what a way to kick off 2003’s Absolution – with a wacky request.

Most bizarre band member name: They’re all bread and butter names, but recently vocalist Matt Bellamy had a kid with fiancee Kate Hudson and they named him.. wait for it…Bingham “Bing” Hawn Bellamy.  What an awesome name. If he doesn’t continue the musical family tradition with a catchy name like that, we’ll be flabbergasted!

Current album: The Resistance (2009)

Future prospects: There can only be hope.  Since new-prog genre busters Oceansize split last year, it would be a real kick in the teeth if this talented three-piece call it quits any time soon.
