Saxon singer Biff Byford is being courted by not one, but two film companies with offers of key roles in productions due to start rolling next year.
The NWOBHM legend tours in support of latest record Into The Labyrinth next month as the band’s remarkable popularity surge continues to gather pace.
But it seems there’s no rest for the musically wicked with Biff set to appear in US and German movies – and provide music for the respective films’ soundtracks.
“We met some people in texas who were making a horror film and they were keen for me to be the cousin of the main character,” explained Byford. “It sounds like great fun and it’s going into pre-production next year. As part of the deal they’re talking about us doing something with the soundtrack.
“The other thing I’m looking at is a project in Germany. There’s a film being made over there about a band’s career from their inception as a ‘Rock Star’ reality TV type band and we’re doing the soundtrack to that. I might get to play the part of their manager.
“We’ll be taking a month or two off after the November tour but then we start writing the new album in the New Year. And then there’s the two film porjects. It’s been really busy during the last two years but it shows no signs of slowing down just yet!”
Catch Biff and the boys in Whitehaven, Middlesbrough, Edinburgh, Birmingham, London, Nottingham and Leeds throughout November – with main support in the shape of Canadian comeback heroes Anvil. And look out for a full interview with Biff right here very soon.
