All week on rushonrock we’re marking the release of THE rock record of the year with a celebration of all things Metallica. With Death Magnetic just days away we can hardly contain our excitement but in a bid to do just that we’re delving deep into the band’s back catalogue.
And today we marvel at the majesty that is One, from the much underrated (but not by us) …And Justice For All record. Intense, emotive, loud and proud, this epic track charts the futility of war in a way only James and the boys could possibly do.
Growling lyrics, battle-tastic effects, some spine tingling guitar playing and a deeply disturbing plot make this the thinking man’s Metallica. Gave the band the confidence to craft future epics Nothing Else Matters and The Unforgiven but this beats the lot.
