If you like your rock thought-provoking, powerful, passionate and prog-ish then you’ll already own Rose Hill Drive’s Moon Is The New Earth (Megaforce) and we’re preaching to the converted.

But if this little gem of a band from Boulder CO has passed you by then we’re happy to set your SatNav to Rose Hill Drive right away.

Head past Van Halen, via The Who, take a right at just about any major rock event of the last 30 years and you’re bound to find them. On first listen rushonrock¬† found MITNE all a bit samey but this is an album to whack on repeat and realise¬†its true depth at your leisure.

In retrospect it’s no surprise that Rolling Stone named Rose Hill Drive one of the ‘Top 10 To Watch’ in 2007. So where exactly are you supposed to watch a band to watch?

Well luckily for those of us embedded in the rock heartland that is the North East there is the perfect place. It’s Newcastle’s Carling Academy 2 and the date is September 5. It’s one of only SIX UK dates so let’s make sure the boys get the very best of Geordie welcomes next month.
