A Remedy For Rock

Cumbria’s finest have been blazing a trail for more than a decade and probably deserve to be a step or two higher up the Call Of The Wild bill.

But catching Heartbreak Remedy in a hot and sweaty tent at the back end of May will be a rock and roll experience unlike any other.

And you’d be mad to miss the band responsible for 2023’s raucous Let The Good Times Roll — a NWOCR gem that never disappoints.

Frontman Matty Penn’s set for a busy weekend as he pops up again the following day with reborn sleaze rockers Falling Red.

But it’s fine… the bloke’s got energy — and talent — to burn.

And he’s got wrecking ball drummer Stephen Jackson right behind him on the kit. What can possibly go wrong?

What we said

“Heartbreak Remedy aren’t kids anymore. They’re permanent fixtures on the buoyant NWOCR scene. Reliably proficient and riotously fun.

“And in 2023 the three-piece play with all the passion, power and professionalism of stadium staples.

“Hurricanes And Hand Grenades is heavy blues heaven.

“Working Man Blues benefits from a gloriously rustic groove.

“And ballad Goodbye allows Penn to drain the well of emotion running through so many of the more affecting songs here.”
