Bryan Adams — Live At The Royal Albert Hall (BMG)

Bryan Adams has always been the most selfless of men.

In fact, the canny Canadian reminded us of his seemingly limitless generosity for weeks on end when, during the summer of 1991, (Everything I Do) I Do It For You dominated the airwaves.

And it should come as no surprise that the ever-gallant Adams has guaranteed Christmas comes early for his legions of loyal fans across the globe.

The singer songwriter chose to record all three of his one-off Royal Albert Hall shows in 2022 with one eye on a future release.

And the Adams family’s been working overtime to ensure the trio of London gigs are available as a CD and vinyl box set a fortnight before Santa finalises this season’s festive deliveries.

This hard rocking hat-trick is an absolute Godsend if you’re still searching for that special something for the Bryan lover in your life.

And let’s face it — we all have one of those.

Adams has always been a big draw live. Pair him with The Royal Albert hall and it’s a rock and roll match made in heaven.

So what’s in the box?

First up is a full run through of Cuts Like A Knife — surely an example of Adams at his sharpest.

Night one of the three show run featured The Only One (as if we need reminding), I’m Ready (he always is) and The Best Was Yet To Come (a kick in the teeth for fans who’d bought tickets for nights two and three).

Bryan appeared to love every solid gold minute and warmed up splendidly for the following evening’s foray into his extensive back catalogue.

Next up and Into The Fire was revisited in all of its trailblazing glory.

You know the one?

It features the slow-burner of a title track, Heat Of The Night and Hearts On Fire as Adams goes full-on Backdraft in a bid to warm the mid 80s charts.

In total, six singles were culled from his fifth studio album — all six and more sounded fresher than the proverbial daisy as he sent the Royal Albert Hall into raptures.

The third of Bryan’s ‘new’ live releases is a version of multi-platinum behemoth Waking Up The Neighbours.

A number one almost everywhere except the US — well the bloke is Canadian — it spawned another six singles across 13 months.

The first of those was (Everything I Do) I Do It For You and even after that number one smash spent a whopping 16 weeks on the UK singles charts, Bryan still chose to release another five songs from his biggest-selling album.

There’s simply no end to that trademark self-sacrifice.

And the best news yet? Bryan’s back at the same place for another three-night stand next May.

He’ll probably record those shows too.
