Félix Rabin backstory

French-born and Swiss-based, guitar whizz and live sensation Rabin is a classic rock throwback imbued with talent way beyond his tender years.

Comfortable straddling genres from indie rock to AOR and trad blues to jazzy funk, his versatility is his strength.

And it was no surprise when Rabin came out of nowhere to win the 2020 Giants Of Rock contest in Minehead.

With confidence to burn, his incendiary live sets are famed for morphing into old-school jams, packed with ambition.

Still in his mid 20s, but with a decade of Montreux Jazz Festival experience under his belt, the singer songwriter’s been playing the UK since 2016.

And Rabin’s returning to the scene of his first London show — at Camden’s Spiritual Bar — later this year.

In Félix Rabin’s own words

“As She Comes is an ode to a friend, who found the right words at the right moments.

“This song is about the ones that will guide you when you need it the most. It’s an ode to those who found us when we felt lost.

“I wrote the song in March 2022. The process felt very easy and natural as I wrote the song with its lyrics over two days.

“We played this tune a couple of times on stage and then, months later, locked ourselves in the studio.

“We recorded it and did our best to keep that vibe we felt the first time we played it live.

“I deeply hope this tune will touch you in one way or another.”

The verdict on As She Comes

There’s a dreamy, West coast, melodic rock vibe underpinning this delightful snapshot of Félix Rabin’s forthcoming EP.

As She Comes benefits from a cascading outpouring of heartfelt emotion.

And the song’s intuitive mix allows the vulnerability of Rabin’s vocal to steal the show.

The Swiss-based star has forged a reputation for immaculate fretwork and yet here it’s his voice that takes centre stage.

The accentuated tone won’t be to everyone’s taste but it works a treat on As She Comes.

Imagine Richard Marx meets Johnny Hallyday — this is slick, radio-friendly, polished pop rock.

Live, it’s little wonder Rabin’s been likened to a French Sam Fender.

That’s a cross-border collab we’d love to see.

What’s next for Félix Rabin

As She Comes trails a new EP slated for release early next year.

Rabin hits the road on November 16 with a 12-date UK tour starting in Wolverhampton and wrapping up at London’s Spiritual Bar on December 1.
