Charlie Worsham backstory
Can it really be a decade since Could It Be?
Charlie Worsham’s solo career might have hit a few bumps along the way but the Mississippi native’s about quality not quantity.
And if fans crave the long-awaited follow-up to 2017’s Beginning Of Things then don’t measure the man on record releases alone.
The former Old Crow Medicine Show player has emerged as a key member of Dierks Bentley’s touring band.
And 2021 EP Sugarcane served as a timely reminder of the 38-year-old’s enduring talent.
It might be 10 years since debut album Rubberband announced Worsham as one to watch.
But last year’s ACM Award for Acoustic Guitar Player of the Year evidenced a star still on the rise.
Kiss Like You Dance and previous single How I Learned To Pray are featured on new EP Compadres.
The five-track project features a handful of Worsham’s most decorated collaborators and fiercest champions: Kip Moore, Luke Combs, Elle King, Lainey Wilson and Bentley.
Produced by The Cadillac Three frontman Jaren Johnston, Compadres ushers in the next chapter in a compelling, decade-long country music tale.
In Charlie Worsham’s own words
“Kiss Like You Dance is irresistibly fun to play.
“It’s a fun singalong and it’s full of honkytonk guitar gold.
“I love playing it live and I’m especially excited that my buddy Kip is on this track.
“We’ve got a killer music video coming for y’all soon.”
The verdict on Kiss Like You Dance
Looking for a way to banish those Monday blues?
The wonderfully optimistic Charlie Worsham has you covered.
This latest taste of big-name collaboration project Compadres is a cut above.
Worsham and Kip Moore prove themselves a country music match made in heaven as they trade typically teasing vocals.
And the fast-paced, upbeat, flirtatious Kiss Like You Dance kicks ass.
But it’s not all about the voices — check out the hard rocking guitar solo built around a blinding riff as the pair go back to the 80s and peak party-starting Poison.
Kiss Like You Dance is Worsham at his lip-smacking, toe-tapping best.
And as collabs go it’s a case of the Moore the merrier.
