Born To Be Wild
Leigh Matty boasts one of the finest voices in melodic rock and it’s little wonder Def Leppard producer Mutt Lange tipped the band for big things back in the late 80s.
With a new album incoming and a hugely successful 2022 UK headline tour under their belts, these are heady times for Romeo’s Daughter.
Boasting delicious hooks and emotive choruses, this is a band born for the big stage and their first album since 2015’s Spin is one of the most anticipated AOR drops of the year.
Guitarist Craig Joiner is like a fine whisky: maturing with age and setting the standard for peers half his age.
Main stage headliners Reckless Love better have their shit in order come Saturday night…
…because Romeo’s Daughter are guaranteed to whip the COTW massive into a melodic rock frenzy.
What We Said
“A consummate take on I Cry Myself To Sleep At Night roused those starting to flag on a work night.
“And not for the first time in her career, Matty outshone the Wilson sisters with the encore-sealing Wild Child.
“A tune penned by Lange, Joiner and keyboardist Tony Mitman — and later picked as the opening track on Heart’s double platinum banger Brigade — was just about perfect.
