Glasgow rockers Vukovi have released their new single Run/Hide, taken from upcoming album Fall Better.

The new record will be released on the 24th of January, 2020 through VKVI Records and will be supported with tour dates and in-store performances.

Lead by Janine Shilstone, Vukovi play a high-energy brand of pop infused rock and the new single will close off the album. Run/Hide is a song about control and getting away from the mental struggles that follow Shilstone.

The new song is “about questioning whether I can actually get away from this thing that I think follows me. Can I learn to control it?” The singer has a version of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder called Thought Action Fusion.

This is documented through the new album, and is a disorder that leads those who have it to believe their actions are guided by an external presence. The Vukovi singer’s external presence is a shadow “that makes decisions for me, and decides whether something good or bad is going to happen to me on any given day.”

Hamish Reilly explained that he wanted to create a song that was ‘heavy, fucked up’ and they settled on Run/Hide.

“Eventually I fell into the riff and just began to build from there! I felt lucky to find that riff, I didn’t actually come up with that, but more someone must have planted it in my head,” explained Reilly.

Vukovi have just finished a European tour with Counterfeit and are ready to take on UK crowds with their own 11 date tour.

This band have one mission: “I want our songs to let people know that they’re not alone in feeling crazy,” she says. “I want to give people who feel that way a little bit of comfort. I want them to feel less alone.”
