Dinosaur Pile-Up have released Back Foot, their new single from upcoming album Celebrity Mansions.

The video for the fresh track premiered with NME and can now be found on YouTube. DPU’s latest LP is out on the 7th of June via Parlophone Records and can be pre-ordered by following this link.

Back Foot follows hot on the heels of Thrash Metal Cassette and builds on their slacker rock template while adding down a delicious layer of gonzo heavy metal and a few tantalising hooks for good measure.

Dinosaur Pile-Up started out as the new grunge kings of the scene but have slowly morphed into a band that retains those roots but isn’t afraid to get some sauce out of their guitars at the same time.

Back Foot takes the quest for fame and sets it to music: working rubbish jobs, nagging parents and people who doubt you are all blown away by DPU and makes us at Rushonrock very excited for the new album.

Celebrity Mansions is an album about suffering from existential doubt while on tour, seeing talentless crooners make it in pop and wondering whether that break will ever happen.

As Dinosaur Pile-Up frontman Matt Bigland explains: “It’s a reference to wen we were on tour, questioning whether we’d wasted our lives doing this, wondering if we’d ever get a break.

“I’d see what you call influencers on Insta, popstars making money from being attractive, people with nothing to say. And I’d just think ‘surely there’s more to life than this. Surely people want more to this. Surely they want some substance. I mean we’re talking about music. It matters'”

The band intend to play their new record at Download Festival before setting off on a US tour with Shinedown across June and July.
