Daxx & Roxane have just released brand new single Someone I Love and the Swiss rockers are readying the follow-up to barnstorming debut album Ticket To Rock. But the lads love nothing better than a stint on the road playing live…and this is what soundtracks those long journeys stuck in a van.
Lynyrd Skynyrd – Freebird
It’s a great song and when we were younger it was a song that our guitar teacher used to play us. We learnt it back then and it’s stayed with us over the years.
Limp Bizkit – Living It Up
There’s a lot of love for Limp Bizkit but we also enjoy Korn from that era. Growing up in the 90s it was impossible to ignore the influence Limp Bizkit had for a while. And this is a great song when you’re on the road.
Guns N Roses – Civil War
When it comes to picking one Guns N Roses track we were spoilt for choice. But Civil War is such an epic song and it ticks all the boxes. If you love rock music you’ve got to love this. And when we started the band we always tried to cover Guns N Roses songs.
Bad Touch – 99%
We had an absolute blast with Bad Touch and Aaron Buchanan before Christmas and it was our longest stint on the road in the UK. This song went down a storm every night and in between gigs someone would always put this on.
Mötley Crüe – Primal Scream
Again there are so many Crüe songs we could have picked. We got into the band on the back of the Dr Feelgood album – that record just kicked ass. Then we dug into their greatest hits and this came out on the Decade Of Decadence record in the early 90s.
Def Leppard – Hysteria
Choosing a Leppard song is always a hard choice. And choosing one song from Hysteria isn’t even easy! But the title track from that album is the perfect mix of rock and pop and anyone can enjoy it – even people who never listen to rock. It’s a fucking great song!
38 Special – Hold On Loosely
It’s from their Wild Eyed Southern Boys album and that pretty much describes 38 Special. We discovered this on the last tour of the UK and it’s another great driving song.
Cindi Lauper – Girls Just Want To Have Fun
We were heading to a festival in Switzerland and we just decided it would be a laugh to roll up at this muddy site with the windows down blasting this out. When the guys on the gate saw us they had no idea what was going on. We were singing along and sounded totally out of place.
Backstreet Boys – I Want It That Way
What can you say about this guilty pleasure? It went to number one all over the world and for a reason! We listen to a lot of Def Leppard and when someone requested some more in the bus, this went on. I think it was a joke but I guess both bands were good at writing ballads.
