Wars have announced that they have signed with Spinefarm Records and will release their debut album on January 27th.
We Are Islands, After All will be a 10 track long record that mixes alt rock and melodic hardcore.
It will also be the group’s first release since signing to their new record label and builds on their fantastic 8/10 RUSHONROCK rated debut EP And So The Sea Will Claim Us All.
Their first release grabbed the attention of the Radio 1 Rock Show and preceded tours with bands such as Hacktivist, Creeper, SHVPES and Bury Tomorrow.
UK producer Matt O’Grady, who has worked with Don Broco and You Me At Six, teamed up with the Rugby natives to help them produce We Are Islands, After All. Alan Douches, chief engineer at West West Side Music on the US East Coast, handled the mastering.
Speaking about the move to Spinefarm, guitarist and vocalist Sam Barnard said: “Signing to Spinefarm is a huge step for us.
“Being on the same label as some of our idols is truly insane! We are super excited about what the future holds, working with a passionate team of music fans that really believe in us and our music.
“We’re also delighted to have That By Discord Things Increase leading the charge,” continued vocalist Rob Vicars, “as it’s a really significant starting point for everything we’ve been working on this last year.
“It was an honour to have Colin Doran, a collective hero of ours, involved, and generally the song ties together a lot of the concepts and themes that snake through the album. It’s a defining track for us, and we’re impossibly excited to finally have people hear it.”
2017 will be a busy year for wars, with more singles and videos being released and a full touring schedule being pursued.
