Massive Wagons – Welcome To The World (PledgeMusic)
Genre: Hard Rock
Anyone who witnessed the full power of Massive Wagons on the Off Yer Rocker On The Road tour won’t need convincing that this band could become the engine room of British rock.
Welcome To The World packs lorry loads of heavy riffs, singalong choruses and thumping bass lines in the mould of classic homegrown heroes The Almighty, Wolfsbane, Black Spiders and The Answer.
Their sound fuses 70s blues rock with 80s bombast and enough grit to appeal to those 90s kids still in thrall of grunge. And it’s a sound that has been captured perfectly by co-producers Adam Thistlethwaite (Wagons’ blistering guitarist) and matt Elliss.
Tokyo, Nails and the riotous Shit Sweat Death scream attitude and angst in equal measure and it’s little wonder all three look set to become permanent fixtures in the band’s increasingly explosive setlist.
Great new British bands do exist. And Massive Wagons are among the greatest.
