quireboys us tour poster final 600pxThe Quireboys are touring North America for the first time in 20 years this month as part of their 30th anniversary celebrations.

And long-time guitarist Paul Guerin is penning an exclusive tour diary for RUSHONROCK as the band go coast to coast throughout August.

Look out for more behind-the-scenes access very soon…

The drive from LA to Vegas is something everyone should experience at least once – you literally are in the desert, it’s as hot as hell and if you broke down you truly would be doomed. But at the same time it’s an amazing sight.

Vegas in the daytime isn’t quit the spectacle it is at night but it’s still pretty breathtaking. I bet the electricity bill is nearly as big as mine at home when the kids leave all the lights and televisions on…

Count Vamp’d is a great club very much in the style of the Hard Rock Cafe and the equipment and the sound crew were top notch

The opening act were a band called Dellacoma – a great rock band and the Aussie singer was the double of Michael Hutchence from INXS…one for the laydeeeez.

We hit the stage at 11.30pm and I must admit the jet lag was kicking me in the arse. But the mighty Marshalls and the brilliant crowd singing along soon brought me round.

We were joined onstage by Phil Lewis and Scotty Griffin (LA Guns) for a rousing version of Sex Party then it was out to the bar to sign some CDs.

Our hotel (the Rio) was amazing – I just wish we had enough time there to really enjoy it. Luckily I managed to get out of Vegas without gambling the house away!

We were due to be back playing an unplugged show at the Whisky last night with the Deserters opening up for us. It was only confirmed the day before so I’m off in search of some acoustic guitars…never a dull moment!
