Metal fans can look forward to one of the live events of the year this autumn after it emerged  heavyweights Stone Sour and Avenged Sevenfold have joined forces to deliver what should be a cracking co-headline tour of the UK.

Corey Taylor, who steps over from his day job fronting Slipknot, is excited to be returning to Britain and said: “This tour with Avenged Sevenfold is going to be great!

“We were looking for something different and exciting to do with our next UK tour and it just made perfect sense.  The shows are going to be amazing and the fans are going to lose their minds.  Here we fucking go!”

The Des Moines-based five-piece release their third studio album Audio Secrecy on 6th September.  The newie was recorded in Nashville during the Spring floods earlier this year with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Alice In Chains, Rush) manning the boards.  The album’s first single, Mission Statement is available now from iTunes and other major online digital retailers.

The tour will be Avenged Sevenfold’s first UK jaunt since 2008 and guitarist Zacky Vengeance said: “We are ready to return to Britain this fall.  You have been warned.”

The band have made Nightmare, from their new album of the same name, available on iTunes and it went straight to the top of the UK iTunes rock chart. The track has also notched up over 2.5 million views on YouTube.
