Four weeks after axe slinger Roadsy hinted as much to rushonrock, Oz rockers Airbourne have been confirmed for Download 2010!

On a day when more than 20 new acts were announced – and organiser Andy Copping revealed he’d tapped up Led Zeppelin for a set – we’re delighted the AC/DC clones are joining their inspiration on another blast of a bill.

Also confirmed are Steel Panther, Saxon, HIM, Cinderella and Ratt!

Other new additions for the June festival are: New Jersey prog-rockers Coheed & Cambria, Welsh rockers The Blackout, Florida’s A Day To Remember, Alaskan metallers 36 Crazyfists, mathcore heroes Dillinger Escape Plan and new Roadrunner signings Dommin.

Fans can expect sets by Taking Dawn, Boston metalcore band Unearth, death metallers Job For A Cowboy and Whitechapel plus Pennsylvanian’s August Burns Red.

There will be appearances by x-Evanescence and American Idol combo We Are The Fallen, thrash metallers Rise To Remain, metal supergroup HellYeah, and San Francisco’s heavy rock act Y&T.

We can’t wait!!
