atomic-sleevePower metal trios come and go but if you like your rock Rush-heavy and Motorhead-hard then make a date in your diary for June 8.

That’s when the latest offering from The Atomic Bitchwax hits the UK in the shape of the fantastic TAB 4. It’s classic-meets-prog-meets-riff-rock feel is the sound of the future and our promo copy has long since been lodged in the CD player.

Chris Kosnik (bass and vocals), Bob Pantella (drums) and Fin Ryan (guitar and vocals) might have picked a pretty user-unfriendly name for their thumping three piece but the songs are pure quality. And with an extensive European tour already booked for later this year there’s every chance the boys will be hitting a few British towns sometine soon.

In what is fast becoming a bumper year for heavy rock newbies we’re happy to welcome this underground combo back to the party in the hope that 2009 could be their time. Instrumental blowout Super Computer is worth your listening time alone but for those who like a few words check out raucous opener Revival

The whole record is a revival of sorts – the kind of classic rock comeback we just love. If these guys don’t get a load of gig offers very soon then we’ll pluck out our beard whiskers one by one. Maybe.
