Tomorrow sees rising stars of the UK rock scene Fables Last Stand complete work on their debut album due for release next month.
Armed with the tunes completed at Bryan Adams’ Vancouver studio last year the Geordie boys have written, recorded and mixed enough new material to release a full record in the next few weeks. rushonrock caught up with lead singer Roachie and axe demon Twiggy at Friday night’s Hot Leg gig.
And the duo were in high spirits despite a long week laying down tracks at the brilliant Blast! Studios – home to Tyneside-based Global Music.
“That place is great and it was the perfect setting to wrap up the album,” said Roachie. “Eric (Cook) from Global Music came down and checked us out which gave everyone a boost and he’s been brilliant in terms of giving us support. We’re heading into the studios for the final time on Sunday but everything’s sounding pretty good right now.”
Guitarist Twiggy seemed exhausted by the whole process and admitted: “The pressure’s been on. We’ve been doing 14-hour days knowing our time at Blast! is limited but we didn’t want to rush things too much. We want this album to sound as good as it possibly can.”
We’re sure it will and for all the latest news on Fables – variously described as the Toon’s answer to Guns n Roses, AC/DC and Aerosmith – check out rushonrock.
