Say what you like about Scott Weiland but two things are beyond dispute. He’s an exceptional frontman and a consummate workaholic.

Rather than sit on his arse bemoaning an acrimonious break-up with his former Velvet Revolver pals, the super cool singer has jumped straight back into the saddle and it seems his creative juices are flowing faster than ever.

rushonrock is one of the first sites in Europe to receive an advance copy of Weiland’s new double disc solo record Happy In Galoshes and we’ve been bowled over by the energy, variety and passion which oozes out of every song.

As usual there’ll be a full review the night before it’s UK release – but you’ll have to wait until January 18 for that! In the meantime we must draw your attention to killer tracks including Fame, Killing me Sweetly and Pictures And Computers (I’m Not Superman)  which see Weiland tackle issues close to his heart and tackle them with aplomb.

Right now the Stone Temple Pilots frontman is on the road in the USA with his reformed rock juggernaut but a slew of UK gigs are promised for 2009. That will be one tour you don’t want to miss. Oh, and don’t spend all your Christmas money before January 19…
