Varvara have released the new video to their latest single Human Being, which features on forthcoming album Death Defying.

The LP was mixed by Pelle Gunnerfeldt, who have previously worked with The Hives, Refused and Fireside.

The band are named after Varvara Schantin, who earned herself a statue in Hamina, Finaldn, after handing out food and rerefreshments to the ‘Reserviupseerikoulu’ (Reserve Officer Training Corps) before those soldiers had a possible date with destiny.

Varvara’s beginnings were humble, but the band quickly became more than a friendly pastime as releases were picked up on by various sections of the Finnish music media.

The band spent the spring and the autumn 2015 preparing their third full-length album. Produced by the band themselves the new album was mixed in Stockholm by Pelle Gunnerfeldt, who’s known as the guitar player and producer of late 90s alt-rock band Fireside.

Pelle’s work and sound style has been recognized with many international success stories such as The Hives, Refused and Disco Ensemble. The album was mastered by Brad Boatright (Beastmilk, Fucked Up and High On Fire) at Audiosiege, in Portland, USA.

Meanwhile Ohio based LEAV/E/ARTH have signed with InVogue Records and will release their debut album on the 7th of April.

The video for lead single The Other Side is also out via the InVogue Records YouTube channel.

Speaking about the video, Vocalist Leah Stenger said: “The Other Side was portrayed with a video concept of having an out-of-body experience, a very literal form of disconnection.

“The overall message from the single and of the new album is that no matter how lost you may feel, there is always a way to come back from even the lowest of places.”
