Edenthorn backstory
It’s five-and-a-half years since Edenthorn last celebrated a Red Hot Track Of The Week but the band that gave us 1993 — in 2020 — never sounded better.
The North East quartet celebrated the 10th anniversary of feisty debut The Maze last year and 2018’s Exist still remains a staple of the breakout NWOCR scene.
Championed by Kerrang! Radio and Planet Rock, Kyle Tague (vocals), Dylan Gardner (guitar), Faiba Gabrielle (bass) and Max Griffiths (drums) are masters of blazing modern rock.
We witnessed one of Edenthorn’s best ever shows as they packed a heaving tent at 2022’s Call Of The Wild Festival.
But it looks like 2026 could be the band’s biggest yet with a brand new record set to drop later this year.
And new tune All I’ve Ever Known is the sound of a band still dreaming big.
In the band’s own words
“All I’ve Ever Known is a song about losing your way, finding your purpose and reclaiming what you do best.
“It’s about rediscovery and returning to the things that really matter.
“The song changed shape so many times before we found the version that felt right.
“It started out as one of our less heavy, more melodic songs but it’s ended up being one of the more heavier tracks from the upcoming album.”
The verdict on All I’ve Ever Known
It should come as no surprise than Dylan Gardner’s blistering solo is the standout moment of another bona fide Edenthorn banger.
The supercharged six-stringer is the jewel in the crown of this criminally underrated four-piece.
And the sooner Gardner gets back to blasting out his trademark riffs on festival stages UK-wide the better.
That Edenthorn are still keeping it in the family counts for a lot.
Gardner’s sister, Faiba Gabrielle, and Max Griffiths drive All I’ve Ever Known’s pounding rhythm.
Meanwhile Faiba’s partner — frontman Kyle — continues to evolve as the affecting voice behind a band that never holds back.
All I’ve Ever Known is everything you thought you knew about Edenthorn… and a whole lot more.
What’s next for Edenthorn
Earlier this month the band was forced to put out a statement defending their reputation as songwriters after rumours began circulating online.
But Edenthorn’s brand new album is scheduled to drop later this year.
And new live dates are expected to be announced soon.
