LN backstory

North East-based pagan metal trailblazers LN are rooted in Norse mythology, witchcraft, medieval lore and ritualistic storytelling.

Fusing crushing modern metal with atmospheric folk, the bold five-piece have forged a reputation for frenzied live shows and striking studio work.

Fan favourites Shield Wall and Fenrir have landed the band high profile festival slots and radio play across the UK.

And new single Draugr represents the third and final chapter of the Völuspá saga.

Propelled by self-styled community ‘The Peasants’ and ready to ramp things up across the summer, frontwoman LN Hirst and her band are tipped as one of metal’s breakout acts of 2026.

In LN’s own words

Draugr tells the tale of the mythological beings known as the Draugr, an intelligent undead warrior, cursed to roam the earth long after death, fiercely guarding the treasures they once held dear.

“What were once feared warriors have now become the feared undead.

“In the world of LN, one such creature was hunted down and slain, its severed head mounted upon a stake as a warning to the rest… his name is Donnie.

“More will come. Heads will roll. Draugr is the soundtrack to their slaughter.”

The verdict on Draugr

Juxtaposing fury with calm and burning ambition with steely self-confidence, Draugr is LN at their boundary-stretching best.

LN Hirst’s haunting vocals clash with angular riffs and melancholic folk to create a soundscape that challenges the senses.

But this is a band that’s been built on breaking the mould.

And while Draugr was always meant to follow on seamlessly from Shield Wall and Fenrir, it takes LN to a new level of sonic rage.

In closing one chapter the North East’s answer to Falkenbach have opened the door to something far more visceral and vital.

If you like your metal forged in mystery then Draugr delivers. Dive right in.
