Cassidy Paris backstory
At the age of 11 Cassidy Paris met singer songwriter Paul Laine, who undertook a unique mentoring role.
The ex-Danger Danger and Defiants frontman took the rising star under his wing to help develop her as an artist and songwriter.
Laine collaborated with Cassidy and started to produce her music.
Bursting onto the mainstream rock scene with 2018’s Stand, the Aussie firebrand made her mark and hit her stride.
And dates across the US, Europe and Japan have established Cassidy as a must-see live performer.
Acclaimed 2023 debut New Sensation did what it said on the tin — announcing one of melodic rock’s rising forces in style.
Follow-up Bittersweet lands later this year with fans braced for another compelling blast of Pat Benatar-meets-Lita Ford-meets-Lorraine Lewis.
In Cassidy Paris’ own words
“I instantly connected to Nothing Left To Lose as it represents times when you feel so alone and in pain.
“You feel like no one is listening or really understands what you’ve been through.
“It’s when people twist things and lie to try and paint a picture that is fabricated.
“They manipulate others to suit their own agenda, making you feel like you’re going crazy.
“Nothing Left To Lose is one of my favourite tracks off Bittersweet.”
The verdict on Nothing Left To Lose
Sometimes approaching new music from a position of Nothing Left To Lose sparks a career-high burst of dizzying creativity.
Here at Rushonrock we’re hoping Cassidy Paris has plenty left in the locker… for decades to come.
But right here, right now this heartfelt tune represents her best work to date.
There’s more than a hint of hard rocking trailblazer Lzzy Hale about Cassidy’s latest tune — the grinding riffs underpin some of her heaviest work to date.
Nothing Left To Lose marks a serious sonic shift for an artist who’s always worn her 80s hair metal heart on her sleeve.
But the booming production complements the weight of the message: this is serious stuff from a serious player.
Cassidy Paris might have Nothing Left To Lose but thanks to the pocket rocket Aussie powerhouse, rockers everywhere have everything to gain.
