Seven Sisters backstory

Seven Sisters celebrated a decade at the forefront of the new wave of trad metal in 2024.

And we’re hoping the next 10 years are just as noisy for the Rushonrock approved riffmeisters.

Formed in West London in 2014, Seven Sisters deliver melodic, twin guitar-driven metal that blends 80s influences with progressive twists and dynamic turns.

With three acclaimed albums, multiple EPs and tours spanning the UK, Europe, and North America, the band has evolved from NWOBHM enthusiasts to trend-setting pioneers.

Seven Sisters’ trademark style fuses elements of power metal, prog and classic British hard rock.

And 2025’s Shadow Of A Fallen Star Pt. 2 promises to underpin a talent for combining compelling storytelling with a fresh take on trad metal.

In frontman Kyle McNeill’s own words

“For the first time as Seven Sisters, we have the same lineup for two consecutive releases.

“It was also our first ‘stay-in’ studio experience.

“The temptation to keep everything exactly the same as Pt. 1 was enticing but the story is a journey, and we wanted to reflect that in the sound.

“While it is clearly the second half of the story, Pt. 2 has its own identity as a record and can stand on its own, outside the conceptual arc.

“It’s everything we feel Seven Sisters is about.”

The verdict on Heart Of The Sun

It’s immediately obvious that Heart Of The Sun is straight from the heart where Seven Sisters is concerned.

Their deeply authentic Maiden meets Dio metal is tailor made for a trad scene desperate to hang its hat on the genre’s next big thing.

And not for the first time, McNeill steals the show with a visceral vocal tour de force that evokes NWOBHM’s classic early 80s era.

Heart Of The Sun is a blazing anthem that single-handedly turns up the heat on Sisters’ trad metal rivals.

It’s progressive, passionate, pulsating and more: everything you want and need from a fist-pumper made for the mosh pit.

If Shadow Of A Fallen Star Pt. 2 features more of the same then we’re sold.

Bring. It. On.
