High Force backstory
Vocalist Craig Relf and guitarist Kyle Partridge first worked together in Newcastle stoner metal crew Druganaut, and they reunited in 2020 for High Force.
Named after a mighty waterfall on the River Tees, the band went straight for the party zone with songs like Double Barreled Rockgun and God Of Rock and Roll.
Their pump action anthems, loaded with 80s rock riffs, proved Druganaut’s infectious songwriting would live on, even if the NOLA grooves had been swapped for sunset strip sleaze.
The duo are heading into 2023 on the back of their first live performance and the release of new single, Hot Rocking.
And the accompanying video, featuring Xena, Atropa Belladonna, The Dolly Rose, Illumi naughty, Siân Black and Vehement Vamp – aka The Forcettes – is not to be missed…
In singer Craig Relf’s own words
“We had so much fun making this new video for Hot Rocking, especially with The Forcettes in the mix.
“We’re glad to say they will be joining us for our live performances going forward.
“We are currently writing new music and getting our live rock ‘n’ roll show ready for the masses!”
The verdict on Hot Rocking
You can almost touch the sweat dripping off Relf and Partridge as they move through the gears on Hot Rocking.
Like a particularly brutal gym session, it leaves your breathless, aching and feeling like you can conquer the world.
The riffs lunge hard, the solos shine like baby oil.
Frankly, it’s what we’ve come to expect from High Force.
And it fucking well rocks!
What’s next for High Force?
High Force will be competing in Bloodstock’s Metal 2 The Masses competition this year. You can catch them in the competition’s second Newcastle upon Tyne heat at Trillians in Newcastle on Friday, March 10.
The band are currently taking bookings for new shows too.
