Hillbilly-fuelled throwbacks The Outlaw Orchestra are back with their latest homage to rock and roll royalty!

Following the success of the trio’s lockdown covers series — and subsequent album Under The Covers — Southampton’s finest are it again.

And an on-point version of The Small Faces’ seminal late 60s hit Itchycoo Park is the perfect soundtrack to autumnal days and darker nights.

“There is no better example of British psychedelic pop/rock than Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane’s Itchycoo Park,” said The Outlaw Orchestra.

“It’s a challenge to learn, play and sing whilst paying homage to rock n roll royalty.

“It’s the happiest song ever so how could you not wanna play it?

Back Under The Covers is The Outlaw Orchestra’s salute to our musical heroes.

“If a young music fan hears us then checks out the original and digs it, our work is done.”

Back Under The Covers sees The Outlaw Orchestra revisiting their passion for delivering new takes on old favourites.

The band’s latest collection — released on Friday — includes tributes to The Beatles, The Band and Motörhead.

“When we’re backstage hanging with other bands and musicians, we like to warm up the fingers and voices by jamming out covers,” added the band.

“Everyone joins in, the bottle tops start to collect pretty fast and within an hour we’re stage ready.

“This is how we started out, busking around the kitchen table swapping instruments.

“Someone backstage said ‘you guys should record these, they’re great fun’.

“So with the help of portable technology we captured the more polished versions of our backroom jams into another collection of our favourite covers.”
