MOR CruiseNewcastle’s very own Quireboys are one of the star attractions on the 2013 Monsters Of Rock Cruise setting sail from Fort Lauderdale this weekend.

And guitar hero Paul Guerin will be giving RUSHONROCK readers an exclusive insight into one of the music events of the year.

The Quireboys will be joining Cinderella, Saxon, Tesla, Great White, Nelson, Enuff Z Nuff and more on the five-day shindig.

And Paul will be offering his own unique slant on what promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime trip for fans of 80s rock.

With Enuff Z Nuff hosting the pre-cruise party it’s over to your favourite new rock blogger…

I’m sitting by the pool sipping a cold frothy quencher thinking I’m so pleased I took up the guitar and not the flugelhorn…things could have been so different.

We flew in yesterday via Charlotte but missed our connection due to being hauled in by customs for the crime of having long hair.

But we eventually made it to Ft Lauderdale and watching the sun set as we flew down the Florida coastline was stunning – a couple of bottles of white wine on ice and we were here.

Donnie and Chip from Enuff Z Nuff were in the bar so we had a good old catch up with them and then it was definitely snooze o’clock…

Met up with the chaps from Helix, Black N Blue and Stryper round the pool today – everyone’s in cracking form swapping stories from back in the day.

But the fun really begins tonight as it’s the cruise welcome party at a club in Ft Lauderdale – Enuff Z Nuff are providing the entertainment so it should be a night of shenanigans and frivolity!

We board the the cruise tomorrow morning so I will be back with a blow by blow account of tonight’s proceedings. Until then over n oot
