Lzzy Hale believes there is no better role model for female rockers than Amy Lee after crossing America in the company of the enduring Evanescence star.
Lzzy’s band Halestorm are part of the 2012 Carnival Of Madness tour – one of this summer’s hottest live tickets with headline act Evanescence.
And Hale has been enjoying some quality ‘girl time’ with Lee – an inspirational figure for the fast-emerging rocker.
“Amy is still a real icon and I get to see that every day,” said Hale. “A lot of the kids who get to see her start crying with joy because they admire her so much.
“It’s really neat to see that close-up but I can understand what they’re feeling. She’s quite inspirational to a lot of people on all sorts of levels.
“She’s been doing this she was 21-years-old and she’s still doing a great job today. She works incredibly hard and the whole Evanescence empire is on her shoulders.
“It’s been great to hang out with her and see how she deals with that pressure. But it’s also been great to have another girl on the road.
“I like to be around my boys but it’s nice to be able to sneak off and talk about shoes or guys from time to time!”
Halestorm hit the UK for a full headline tour next month and we’ll bring you an exclusive interview with Lzzy then.
