Power metal kings Dragonforce return to action in 2012 with a new album, new singer and new label.
And what promises to be a mammoth year for the shred-tastic crew now includes a full UK headline tour this autumn.
With their fifth studio album, The Power Within, set for release on April 15th, Dragonforce have just announced the UK and Ireland leg of the Power Within World Tour.
Always renowned for their massive global treks, the band’s latest raft of shows is set to take at least 40 countries across the planet during the next 18 months. The UK and Ireland leg kicks off on September 25 in Dublin’s Academy venue, working its way the length and breadth of the country over 11 shows and ending in Portsmouth Pyramids on October 7.
The tour is highly anticipated after a stunning show at London’s 100 Club venue last month saw new vocalist Marc Hudson make his Dragonforce debut.
“To say I’m looking forward to my first ever UK and Ireland tour is an understatement,” said the new man behind the mic. “I’ve been on a steep learning curve since joining the band and the fantastic DF fans have been very supportive, now I’ll get to meet more of them.
“We have some superb bands on the bill and will have a great stage show so this tour will be a lot of fun and I’m really excited to be part of it!”
Always ones to deliver a killer bill when embarking on a headline run, Dragonforce are hooking up special guests Scottish Pirate metallers Alestorm with support from London industrial metallers The Defiled and former GU Medicine men Cavorts opening proceedings.
