Less than 48 hours to go before this summer’s big festival finale and we’re ready some typically frenzied Reading and Leeds action.

For the past fortnight we’ve been focusing on the biggest names of the Bank Holiday weekend and if Architects don’t fall into that bracket just yet then it’s only a matter of time.

Opening up a main stage boasting My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds To Mars, Bring Me The Horizon et all is no easy task but this band can do the business.

Band Name: Architects

Date: Friday August 26 (Reading)/Saturday August 27 (Leeds)

Stage: Main Stage

Hit or miss: HIT – With the release of January’s The Here And Now, melodic hardcore heroes Architects finally fulfilled years of untapped potential. Following it up with a slew of sensational live shows and shrugging off the frustration of their early years – marked by name changes and a musical identity crisis – the Brighton noiseniks are big news on the underground metal scene. Now is their chance to batter the mainstream and although early this will be a cracking set. Make no mistake.

Craziest song title: BTN. WTF?

Most bizarre band member name: Tim Hillier-Brook sounds like he should be a general carrying a rifle in Afghanistan not a guitar hero wielding an axe in Berkshire.

Current album: The Here And Now (2011)

Future prospects: Boasting one of the finest vocalists in the business in top shouter Sam Carter and with the thought-provoking tunes to match this lot have the world at their feet. Finally gaining the support they deserve from metal specialist Century Media Records and gaining a reputation as a killer live act it’s surely only a matter of time before Architects work their way up main stages the length and breadth of Britain. Opening at Reading/Leeds is a cracking opportunity to play to thousands of new faces and it’s a chance Carter and his crew will take with both hands.
