If you like your rock melodic, sleazy, soulful and predominantly Swedish then get ready for one of the finest bills of 2011 as the Smokehead Rocks Tour rolls into a city near you.
Five of Scandinavia’s finest are joining forces this autumn to strike some moves and cut some grooves on a six-date UK jaunt – fronted by reformed funk rock sensations Electric Boys.
And Britain’s very own Tainted Nation are getting in on the act for what promises to be a riotous rock n roll party!
Sencelled are a Swedish four-piece rock band underpinned by melody-driven rock with a twist of the power pop – think Rick Springfield meets 90s era Green Day!
Dynazty, meanwhile, have just released second album Knock You Down – the Stockholm-based band boast a collection of storming melodic hard rock songs and are set to become one of the leading Swedish rock bands dominating the hard rock scene.
Tainted Nation is a new name in hard rock with their debut album Fear reflecting the strength of an all-star band. The quintet includes Pete Newdeck (Eden’s Curse), Ian Nash (Lionheart), Mark Cross (FireWind) and Pontus Egberg (The Poodles).
With their album Last Woman Standing, Miss Behaviour proved themselves to be a high-end melodic rock band boasting quality production courtesy of Thomas Eberger at Stockholm Mastering. Their songs range from classic 80s styled AOR anthems like 1988, Cynthia and Emergency to the harder edged Perfect War, featuring Roland Grapow’s blistering guitar solo.
And so to Electric Boys – one of the biggest bands that never was in the late 80s/early 90s and featuring the sublime talents of frontman Conny Bloom. Comeback album And Them Boys Done Swang has won rave reviews and fans of debut Funk-O-Metal Carpet Ride and follow-up Groovus Maximus can expect a fun-filled trip down memory lane.
