So we’ve finally come down from the high that was High Voltage and we reckon the inaugural Victoria Park-based festival was a big hit!
So the walk from the tube was just a touch too far and the pork and stilton burgers lacked any bite but the bands were as brilliant as the weather.
We’ll be bringing you full reviews of selected artists all this week but for now here’s the list of our 2010 High Voltage High Lights.

BACKSTAGE GOSSIP: Whitesnake to headline High Voltage 2010, The Union and Quireboys to hit the road on a co-headline tour, Black Country Communion to play High Voltage 2011, Tony Iommi to make guest appearance at Ozzfest…
BACKSTAGE BUZZ: Record label bosses, PR people, radio journos and Coldplay’s drum tech (!) were all clutching copies of the debut demo CD by unsigned Newcastle act Diablo Rose.
BEST BEER: Down N Outz Ale
WORST BEER: Heaven & Ale
MERCH MADNESS: Nothing but large and extra large tees in High Voltage retro yellow – no sizes by Sunday afternoon
OVERALL VERDICT: A big hit with some big hitters
