LA sleazegrinder Tracii Guns is confident old pals the Quireboys will be a big hit once the Brit band hit Brazil for the first time later this year.

The LA Guns’ guitar hero has just returned from his latest stint in South America – a trip he makes every year in return for the fanatical support of one of his most loyal fan bases.

And Guns was delighted to hear the Quireboys will follow suit later this year after revealing: “South America is starved of traditional rock and roll. “They’ve got loads of metal bands over there and of course there’s all the Latino stuff but rock and roll Quireboys-style is in short supply.

“The fans will absolutely love the band but I’d suggest Spike takes a pillow. He’ll need to get his head down wherever he can because the fans over there won’t allow him to sleep!”

The Quireboys were due to play five dates in Brazil later this month but the tour has been rescheduled for November. And the band could do with a bit of a break!

They fly out to Ibiza for the latest Hard Rock Hell event this weekend before two sets in two days at Sweden Rock.

And then it’s all systems go for High Voltage in July as the Quireboys open up the main stage on Sunday before re-emerging as Down N Outz and then supporting Joe Elliott with Ian Hunter.

Meanwhile Tracii Guns has opened the door to a series of UK and European shows next summer – look out for a full interview with the Hard Rock Hell IV-bound muso right here soon.
