Terrorvision – Oblivion (Terrorvision) b/w What Do You Do That For? (Terrorvision) 1994
One of the most versatile, long lasting, enduring and commercially successful Brit Rock bands to emerge from the late 80s/early 90s, Bradford’s Terrorvision were at home playing sweaty clubs and cajoling vast arena crowds.
Their knack for writing a catchy pop rock anthem was spotted by the rushonrock team way back when – the day we heard American TV and loved it.
By the time Oblivion was released the band had supported Def Leppard at Don Valley Stadium and were pushing ever closer to the Top 20 – this cracking tune peaking at 21 and the highest charting of the five singles culled from the classic How To Make Friends And Influence People.
Of course Terrorvision would finally hit the big time – in terms of chart action at least – with 1999’s Tequila and the dance-influenced vibe of that number two song hinted at a glorious new era. So who could have predicted it would all be over for West Yorkshire’s finest just two years later?
Thankfully Terrrorvision are back in 2009, 10 years after they became big news the world over. And they’re joining fellow Brit Rock legends Quireboys and Gun at Hard Rock Hell next month. It should be good. It always was where these boys were concerned.
