The reformed Dio-era Black Sabbath have been forced to pull out of this summer’s High Voltage Festival just a week after organisers confirmed they would play day one of the brand new rock and metal event.
Heaven & Hell have pulled out of all their summer dates after it emerged frontman Ronnie James Dio is still too unwell to perform as a result of his ongoing battle with cancer. A High Voltage spokesperson said: “Metal legends Heaven & Hell have announced the cancellation of all planned appearances this summer in the UK and Europe and sadly this includes High Voltage.
“The band have issued the following statement: ‘All forthcoming Heaven & Hell European shows have been cancelled as sadly Ronnie isn’t well enough to tour this summer. We hope that everyone understands and want to thank fans for their continuing support.’”
Here at rushonrock we can only hope and pray RJD makes a full recovery sooner, rather than later. We’ll be listening to those Sabbath remasters again very, very soon and keeping our fingers crossed for the little man with the huge voice.
