Ex-Thunder man Luke Morley and long-time recording buddy Pete Shoulder should be the next big thing in British blues rock this year and we’ll be right behind them all the way.

rushonrock caught up with the pair this week prior to April’s headline tour of the UK. And after sneaking a listen of their new band’s three-track EP we can’t wait to catch The Union at this summer’s High Voltage Festival.

“From day one we hit it off and that was eight years ago,” said County Durham’s former Winterville crooner Shoulder, “I’ve been playing gigs since I was 13 but I can’t wait to get going with The Union. It’s a great band.” Morley added: “Pete is a fabulous musician who’s capable of doing anything and everything. “Some people have a great voice but don’t know how to use it. He gets right inside the lyrics and makes a real emotional connection. He’s up there with David Coverdale, Robert Palmer and even Rick Astley.”

The Union’s three track Step Up To The Plate EP is available now from www.theuniononline.com The band kicks off its tour in Milton Keynes on April 10 and ends up in London at the Islington Academy on April 21.

Look out for a full and exclusive interview with Morley and Shoulder here soon.
